The social status of America currently is based off the perception of having money and power. In order to have abundance of money in most cases the person has to be a public figure or have a powerful job in society. The drive currently in America is to gain wealth and to be famous. The social status of someone is based off the socioeconomic status this is being measure from income or even education. The socioeconomic status can easily be based on occupation. This means if a person doesn’t have a prestigious job they can be judged and be considered in a lower status.
It’s all about perception isn’t it? Being rich in money doesn’t always mean you are rich in life.
